Barbies Lament

"Math is hard" is the satirical battle cry my daughters and I proclaim when one of us is sounding a little wimpy. Complaining about the challenges of tax preparation when the only effort it takes is to enter your information into Turbotax, for example, is a moment that could be met with the whiny retort "Math is haarrrd"

The actual phrase, uttered by the 1992 Talking Teen Barbie is:"Math is tough" but who talks that way? So the reminder, to straighten up and deal with life, morphed from the word tough to "Math is haarrrd. When said, we often laugh together and are reminded we are Women and nothing is to hard.

Of course, an "it's to hard" attitude isn't confined to math. "Writing is hard" I hear my inner voice proclaim while I feel my body stiffened in preparation for ..... For what?

How do I say in words what may be better expressed in art, music, or film? What do I have to say anyway?

Therefore, my postings will not be a reporting on the places I have been but rather reporting on where the places I've been have taken me.
